Heartfelt Folk Music from Southeast Michigan
My heartfelt music explores themes of love, sadness, family, tenderness, forgiveness, and renewal. I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists—folk legends like Leonard Cohen and Sarah Jarosz, classic voices like Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, and Elton John, and modern storytellers like John Mayer, Chris Stapleton, and Taylor Swift. I’ve also been shaped by the energy of Bob Seger and Boston, the soul of Lionel Richie and Faith Hill, and the emotional pull of artists like Kiera Knightley, George Jones, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, and Zach Brown. You’ll even hear traces of Michael W. Smith’s sincerity and Jimmy Buffett’s ease in my songwriting. I started writing songs just a few years ago. My first was Five Minutes Old—a tribute to my daughter that turned out to be as healing for others as it was for me. That experience hooked me, and I’ve been writing ever since. My debut album, The Butterfly, is a collection of deeply personal songs. I’m now curating an EP of select tracks featuring professional vocalists, with the hope of placing them in film and TV. For me, music is about emotional honesty, quiet beauty, and making people feel less alone.
